British Telecom (BT) Case Study | Employee Branding & Digital Transformation
06/11/2025About the Client
Bank of America (BACI) is among the world’s largest financial institutions with over 10,000 employees. It serves approximately 56 million U.S. consumer and small business relationships and is a global leader in corporate and investment banking, asset management, and financial services.
Problem Statement
BACI aimed to grow their business unit in GIFT City, Ahmedabad (AHMD), Gujarat. They required detailed market intelligence on the Ahmedabad location to understand talent pool availability for both IT and Non-IT skills. Additionally, BACI wanted to assess the viability and potential success of hiring drives in Ahmedabad.
Solution & Execution
Alp Consulting delivered a comprehensive Market Intelligence (MI) report covering:
- Competitors of BACI in Ahmedabad including TCS, ICICI, Wipro, Accenture, and others.
- Attrition rates showing low employee turnover in Ahmedabad.
- Talent pool availability for IT skills (e.g., Network Admin, SAP, Java, QA Automation) and Non-IT skills (e.g., Fraud, Credit Claims, KYC).
- A targeted list of top engineering and commerce colleges in Ahmedabad for sourcing candidates.
Market Intelligence Snapshot
- Competitors: TCS, ICICI, Tech Mahindra, Vodafone, among others.
- Skill availability ranged from IT infrastructure to credit and reconciliation operations.
- Attrition rates are low since employees in Ahmedabad have fewer switching options between firms.
Target Colleges in Ahmedabad
Top engineering institutes like Institute of Technology, Nirma University; Ahmedabad University; LD College of Engineering; Vishwakarma Government Engineering College; CEPT University; and commerce colleges such as HL College of Commerce, Bhavan’s Sheth RA Shah College, and Nirma University were identified to focus campus hiring efforts.
Execution & Results
BACI planned a two-day mega hiring drive in Ahmedabad for skills including Java, .Net, Testing, and Network Admin. Alp Consulting supported screening and segregating approximately 800 candidates by skillset. Ultimately, around 120 candidates were selected, with 45% of these placements directly through Alp Consulting.
Outcome & Recognition
Following this successful engagement, Alp Consulting was recognized and awarded for its support and effectiveness. Alp became one of BACI’s top three preferred vendors and received the prestigious “GEM” (Going the Extra Mile) Award.
