Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME India) Scheme

The FAME scheme, expanded as Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India, is a scheme designed to promote the manufacturing and the technology for electric and hybrid vehicles in India.

National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020

This scheme was launched in 2013 and updated in 2020. It helps to maintain the fuel security in India, by promoting hybrid and electrical vehicles in India. Government will provide fiscal and monetary incentives to continue the growth of EVs in India, thereby benefiting the entire automobile manufacturing sector.

Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Electric Passenger Cars in India (SPMEPCI)

The Government approved this scheme in March 2024, ensuring that electric passenger car manufacturing in India grows in a sustainable manner. This represents the first of many steps to achieve a cleaner and greener India. This will help the auto manufacturing companies in India get subsidies from the government and the government has already spent 4150 crores on this.

Battery Swapping Policy
