Roles/Designations in Manufacturing

Welder
Other than the actual process of welding, welders also inspect the blueprints and study the sketches and specifications to understand the object that they will be welding and if any special precautions need to be taken. They maintain and monitor the working of the welding equipment and ensure it is within the right limits. Educational Qualifications: You must have a minimum of high school completion or a diploma to secure a job as a welder. In many cases, however, formal training in welding is also required.
Machine Operator
Machine operators are responsible for ensuring that the machinery is operated safely and efficiently. They are also required to pick the right machine for the right task and ensure that the regular maintenance of the machine is done to keep it working properly. Educational Qualifications: A minimum qualification is a high school diploma or a certificate indicating the person is skilled enough to work as a machine operator.
Machine Supervisor
A machine supervisor is responsible for maintaining the machines in a safe working condition. They are also responsible for managing the schedules of the machine operators and for assigning specific tasks to each machine operator. They also help verify production information based on specifications for each product. Educational Qualifications: A machine supervisor must have a high school diploma and several years of experience in production. They may also need to complete company-sponsored training courses.
Quality Assurance Engineer
Defining quality standards and establishing quality controls, if they do not already exist, is the main job of a QA engineer. They also keep track of the products and the processes in manufacturing and help create documentation on product quality and quality assurance. Educational Qualifications: Completion of high school and a degree in quality assurance or a related field is very useful to secure a job as a quality assurance engineer. Knowledge of the manufacturing process in a specific industry is also very important.
Control Systems Engineer
Control systems engineers help design and develop control systems for product quality. They ensure that the control systems for dynamic manufacturing processes are maintained well and are free of damage. They perform troubleshooting on control systems to ensure that this is the case. Educational Qualifications: A bachelor’s in engineering with a focus on mechanical, electrical or control systems specifically is a necessity for this role.
Data Scientist
