EPFO
The Union Finance Ministry in response to a tweet from Infosys Co founder Mohandas Pai communicated members of Employees’ Provident Fund are unable to view interest credits of 8.1% for 2021-22 in their retirement savings account due software upgrade to ring in a tax on PF savings over 2.5 Lakh a year introduced in the Budget 2021-22.
There is no Loss of interest for any subscriber .The interest being credited in the accounts of all EPF subscribers . However that is not visible citing the software upgrade being implemented by the EPFO
For all outgoing subscribers seeking settlement and subscribers seeking withdrawal the payment are being done inclusive of the Interest
ESIC
The Government of India, vide Notification S.O. 4880(E), implemented the provisions of the ESIC towards Chapter IV , Chapter V , and Chapter VI , effective from 1st day of November 2022, in all the areas of Chengalpattu and Karur districts in the State of Tamil Nadu.
The Government of India, vide Notification S.O. 4879(E), implemented the provisions towards Chapter IV ( Chapter V , and Chapter VI of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 , effective from 1st day of November 2022, in all the areas of Salem district in the State of Tamil Nadu.
Contract Labour Regulation Act (CLRA)
The Government of Rajasthan, vide Notification no. 8/(1)EODB/I.R./Labour/2020/Part-1/28777, introduced a system of automatic sanction and generation of registration and license under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (CLRA).
Factories Act
Government of Andhra Pradesh vide Circular No. LAE05-12021/31)/2/2022-BSEC-DOF, has allowed the employment of women in factories in night shifts i.e. after 7 p.m. and before 6 a.m. subject to conditions notified in the circular.
Shops and Establishments
- The Government of Puducherry, vide Notification G.O.Ms.No.16/AIL/LAB/G/2022, allows all Shops and establishments employing ten or more employees, to keep open 24X7 hours for all days of the year, for three years, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
- Government of Telangana vide notification No. G.O.Rt.No. 476 exempted all the shops and establishments from the applicability of provision related to working hours of women between 8.30 P.M. to 6.00 A.M, subject to the prescribed conditions and Prior consent from the women workers
Bonus
The Administration of Dadra & Nager Haveli and Daman & Diu, vide Circular No. LEO/BONUS/CIRCULAR/2016/1495, directed all the Industrial and other Establishments to ensure payment of bonus to all eligible employees, and submission of Annual Return in Form 'D' under Payment of Bonus Act, 1965.
Holiday’s (Election and Others)
- The Government of Haryana, vide Notification No. Elec-2022/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/34921, declared paid holiday for eligible employees, working in shops and commercial establishments, on 9th November 2022 (Wednesday) in Ambala, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, and Sonipat Districts and on 12th November 2022 (Saturday), on account of the General Election of the Members of Zila Parisads and Panchayat Samitis.
- The Government of Haryana, vide Notification No. Elec-2022/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/33028, declared paid holiday for eligible employees on October 30, 2022, and November 02, 2022, on account of General election in Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Mahendergarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat, and Yamunanagar districts, where the election is going to be held on the above dates. - The Government of Haryana, vide Notification No. F.W/Election,2022/1692, exempted the workers, enrolled as voters, in Bhiwani, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Mahendergarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat and Yamunanagar districts, from the operation of Section 52(1) of the Factories Act, 1948, for the week commencing from October 30, 2022, till November 05, 2022, on account of general elections in the said districts, to be held on October 30, 2022 and November 02, 2022. Such workers shall not be required or allowed to work on the election day.
- The Government of Himachal Pradesh vide circular No. I/18/85 (Fac)-Lab-Vol-II declared paid holiday on the 12th of November 2022, on account of the General Election for all persons who are employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other Establishments.
- The Government of Telangana, vide Notification G.O.Rt.No. 1975, declared holiday on 24 October 2022, on account of Deepavali, instead of 25 October 2022.

- The Government of Kerala vide notification No.G.O. (P) No. 22/2022/GAD has released public holiday list for the year 2023.
- The Government of West Bengal vide notification No. 4331 -F(P2) has released General List of Holidays for the year 2023.
- The Government of Goa vide notification No. 37/3/2022-GAD-III/3661 has released the General List of Holidays for the year 2023.
- The Lieutenant-Governor of the Union territory of Puducherry vide notification G.O. Ms. No. 52 has released the public holidays for the year 2023..
- The Government of Tamil Nadu, vide Notification G.O.Ms.No. 682, has released the holiday list for the year 2023.
- The Government of Himachal Pradesh vide notification No. GAD-A(F)10-9/2022, has declared the List of Gazetted Holidays in the State of Himachal Pradesh for the calendar year 2023.
Minimum wages
- The Government of Kerala, vide Notification No. DES/859/2022-P3(1), revised the Consumer Price Index (Cost of Living Index) Numbers, updating the rate of variable dearness allowance for all the industries in the State of Kerala, with effect from 1st August 2022.
- The Government of Odisha, vide Notification No.6078/LC, released the Minimum Wages effective from 1st October 2022 for the State of Odisha.
- The Government Of National Capital Territory of Delhi vide notification F.No.(142)/02/MW/VIII/Part file/5972-5986, dated 14th October 2022, revised minimum wages including variable dearness allowance, effective from 1st October 2022.
- The Government of Haryana vide Notification IR- 2/2022/33216-33346 has released the variable dearness allowance towards Minimum Wages effective July 1, 2022
- The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, vide Notification No. S.O. 513, revised the minimum wages effective from October 17, 2022, in the State.
